Lady Stingers Dominate USC Salkehatchie to Stay Alive in Region 10 Tournament

Florence-Darlington Technical College kept its postseason hopes alive with a commanding 13-3 victory over sixth-seeded USC Salkehatchie on Friday in Game 3 of the Region 10 Tournament. The game ended in five innings due to the run rule.

The Lady Stingers, the tournament's No. 4 seed, set the tone early with a seven-run first inning, followed by four more in the second. FDTC racked up 13 hits in the win, led by Hayleigh Atkinson, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles, and three RBIs.

Zoie Hunt delivered a standout two-way performance, pitching a complete game while allowing just five hits and one earned run. She also contributed offensively with two hits and two RBIs. Mackenzie Kubas added a home run and drove in three runs, while Jordan Perritt chipped in with two hits and two RBIs of her own.

The Stinger's defense was sharp, committing no errors, while USC Salkehatchie committed two. The Lady Stingers also applied pressure on the basepaths, with successful steals by Larissa Siders and Madison Rainwater.

The win improves FDTC's tournament record to 2-1 and highlights their well-rounded effort in hitting, pitching, and fielding as they continue their push for the Region 10 title.
