Florence-Darlington Technical College faced a tough challenge in Game 2 of the Region 10 Tournament, falling 14-1 to top-seeded Gaston College. The Lady Stingers struggled to contain Gaston's powerful offense, which came into the game with a dominant 55-3 record and an undefeated 22-0 mark in region play.
Despite the loss, Grayce Rhyne and Mackenzie Kubas each contributed an RBI. Kubas also reached base twice, while Rhyne, Larissa Siders, Madison Rainwater, and Zoie Hunt added to the team's five-hit total. However, the Stingers left 12 runners on base, unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
On the mound, Kubas and Hunt faced a relentless Gaston lineup. Kubas allowed six earned runs on six hits over two innings, while Hunt gave up eight earned runs in her two innings of work. The Stingers were unable to record a strikeout, while Gaston's Grace Kealy led the opposition with a home run and a strong offensive showing.
The Lady Stingers, seeded fourth in the tournament, concluded their season with a 21-25 overall record and 11-13 in region play. They opened postseason play with a 14-12 win over USC Sumter earlier in the day.
