Florence-Darlington Technical College captured its second consecutive Region 10 Tournament Championship—and fourth in the past five years—after a dominant 19-8 win over Gaston College on Tuesday in Lexington.
The Stingers' offense erupted for 15 hits in the championship game. Patrick Evans led the way, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs. Jake Zehner added two hits—including a double—and three RBIs. Gabe Herold and Jackson Proctor each homered, driving in three runs apiece, while Josh Campos added speed on the bases with three stolen bags.
On the mound, Bryce Coulter kept Gaston in check, allowing just two earned runs over five innings and striking out four.
Despite the loss, Gaston's Nick Lundquist turned in a strong performance with three hits and four RBIs, including a double. Joey Nicholson chipped in with two RBIs, but the Rhinos couldn't match Florence-Darlington's offensive firepower.
The Stingers will host the East District Tournament from May 9–11, 2025, taking on Harford Community College's Fighting Owls in a best-of-three series. Harford enters the tournament with an impressive 49-8 record.
Game 1 is scheduled for Saturday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m.
Game 2 will follow on Sunday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m.
If needed, Game 3 will begin one hour after the conclusion of Game 2.
The winner will earn a berth in the NJCAA Division I Juco World Series, set for May 24–31 at Sam Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colorado.
